224550 2004-03-23 10:37:00 I bought Adobe Photoshop Elements 2 a while back, to use at home, on the network.

I have just read the license thing, and from what I can understand, I am allowed to install it on one computer and a laptop, but not two computers?

That is crazy! What is the point in having a network if you can not use half the programs?

Can someone else with Photoshop Elements 2 read the license, and see if that is what they understand from it too, because I was a bit confused.

Blowed if I am going to fork out another $250 or whatever for it, just to be able to use it on 2 PC's

224551 2004-03-23 11:06:00 That is the way it works for most commercial software - you can purchase license packs for multiple copies that usually costs less than the same number of individual packs.

One of the good reasons to use open source softrware - have you tried The GIMP?

224552 2004-03-23 11:22:00 You read the license correctly. That is the way it works. mikebartnz (21)
224553 2004-03-23 11:36:00 Just install it on one of the pcs on the network, jump on the other, find the program files its in,hit the exe and see if you can use it remotley..... metla (154)

First I must admit I don't have Adobe Photoshop Elements 2 and have never therefore read the license.

We are talking about ONE program here are we not?

Can two ( or more ) people read one book at the same time? We are not talking about multiple copies of the same book at the same time.

This sort of license will allow you to go to work and bring home files you want to work on after work on your laptop. You can also work at home with the laptop networked to the desktop and take the laptop elsewhere and work on files.

So can I assume that you have two ( or more ) Desktop PCs at home and they are networked?
If this is the case you may have one person at each desktop and each person will be using the same program at the same time. I won't go into file locking and operating systems just now.

224555 2004-03-23 12:07:00 The dreaded Registry I doubt whether it would work and still would be illegal. mikebartnz (21)

Well OK then.

Is your comment usefull?

Here we have a person whom wants to do things in a legal manner and your comment tends toward circumventing the EULA.

Now IMHO that person can go along with the EULA or not as the case may be.

Quite a few of these agreements are not yet enforcable in a Court of Law in NEW ZEALAND but I am yet to test this.

Do you want to be the first to try?

224557 2004-03-23 12:18:00 Ele,get a new hobby rather then calling me out on my posts.

I aint forcing him to do anything, get a grip on yourself. If my suggestion did work then it would still be only installed on the one machine.

Do i want to be the first to try?

What sort of moronic statement is that?

If you see my comment as so unusefull, how do you justify your post to me?

Trying to massage your ego?

I made a post that "tended" towards something?

whipdeedo.

You should have a read of the thread the other night discussing game cracks, should be enough to give you a turn.

224558 2004-03-23 12:20:00 eh, I just want to stick to the rules. But I find it a bit pointless to have it as only 1 PC. It should let you have at least 2 PC's in the same house or something.

Yeah, I have tried The Gimp. But guess what? I wouldn't have a clue if I am allowed to use that LZW compression for GIF files, which is mainly what I use it for. Aargh.

I emailed the Unisys people about it, and they sent me a questionare about my uses, and the company I was in, but I don't work, being a lazy student.

Hopefully they will say I can use it, otherwise I will move to PNG, which I don't think are as good, probably because I don't understand them, or havn't used them much either.
