224447 2004-03-23 02:54:00 ...other than System Restore...?

Most of the methods I've seen involve convoluted Microsoft convulsions in order to get this done, and often it does not work successfully.

Many thanks :: John

224448 2004-03-23 03:26:00 You can get TweakXP 3 to do a full registry backup, as does the latest Spybot Search & Destroy Beta (1.3 rc6).

Why can you not use Regedit to do the dirty work?

224449 2004-03-23 03:30:00 Have a look here (home.t-online.de) at erunt. Haven't tried it myself, but apparently it backs up the security hive, which others don't.

Maybe worth a look.

224450 2004-03-23 03:36:00 Wow Phoenix, those are two cool apps :-)

Thanks for the URL, I'll be downloading them shortly.
The "Detailed information" is quite an interesting read :-)

224451 2004-03-23 03:40:00 If his NTregopt is anything to go by, the erunt should be alright. Have used the NTregopt for about 4 months now with no problems on 2 XP PC's. Pheonix (280)
224452 2004-03-23 03:44:00 That's awesome guys - much appreciated!

I'm d/l ERUNT as I type. The text info explains why RegEdit doesn't cut it for backups.

Thanks for your lightning response :)
