| 224233 | 2004-03-21 20:44:00 | Can anyone recommend a good program to capture video from a VCR and then burn to DVD.I've been using U Lead Movie Studio 2.5 with an Aver Connexant capture card and the results aren't really good enough.I can copy DVD quite well so my dvd burner would apper to be okay.PC is an Acer Aspire. Thanks,Max. | Maxx (1406) | ||
| 224234 | 2004-03-21 22:19:00 | There was a very useful article and software collection in the November Issue of PC User. If you can find a copy its well worth a read (It might be available on their web site). It gave details on how to determine frame rates etc to get the best results. The secret seems to be to use the highest frame rate that will allow you to fill the entire DVD with your project. Movie studio 2 should do the job okay, but you have to experiment a bit with the settings. The free versions of PowerDirector and PowerProducer that came on the mags cover disk work well too. Other than that, you're probably looking at hundreds of dollars for some professional software - the sky's the limit there! | andy (473) | ||

| 224236 | 2004-03-22 23:33:00 | copying / capturing from video and burning it to a dvd will never be the same / never be as good as dvd. The only way you'll do that, is to use a dv video cam and using firewire, and using programs like Ulead Moveifactory, or Ulead Videostudio. | Spacemannz (808) | ||
| 224237 | 2004-03-23 03:03:00 | Have a look here: Web: www.imagingtechnology.co.nz Email: sales@imagingtechnology.co.nz Get them to send you one of their snail-mail catalogs. They have a bunch of external VHS to HD to DVD firewire/USB2 converter boxes that seem to be getting cheaper all the time. Best :: John |
