You paid for support from Xandros so you might as well try them.

Your version should have out-of-the-box nvidia support. If all else fails, try a resinstall and double check the graphics card it detects.

224546 2004-03-28 04:51:00 new message not all bad lol.
No matching precompiled kernel interface.the installer will need to compile a kernel interface.

I say go for it and then

Unable to find the kernel source tree for the currently running kernel.

Is this something I must install as well ??

Basically its having issues finding where your kernel sources are (I think that's what was happening when I had that error).

Try:
sh NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-5336-pkg2.run --kernel-source-path=/usr/src/linux

You'll need to run the following first (as root):
cd /usr/src
ls -l
If you see something like:
Supernova nvidia # ls -l /usr/src/
total 5
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 18 Feb 2 09:29 linux -> linux-2.6.3-rc4-gentoo
drwxr-xr-x 19 root root 1280 Mar 23 21:10 linux-2.6.1-gentoo
drwxr-xr-x 18 root root 752 Feb 24 23:46 linux-2.6.3-rc2-gentoo
drwxr-xr-x 19 root root 1248 Feb 25 00:06 linux-2.6.3-rc4-gentoo

Obviosly without the -gentoo parts ;-)
Basically you want to make sure that it says:
linux -> linux-2.*.*

If not, then run:
ln -s linux-2.*.* linux
This will make the symlink
(Where * is your kernel version)

Then give it a shot.
If it doesnt work, then:
cat /var/log/nvidia-installer.log
and post the output here :-)

Hope this helps

224548 2004-04-01 07:06:00 Xandros has crashed I have changed something and now nothing works lol back in windows now.
But it gets worse I sent my copy of xandros to my brother in wellington so he could have a go with it before he buys "fast post" and now it's LOST.
Will be back when I get a new copy.
Thanx for all your help.
I am not put off at all by my problems and will be back with Xandros as soon as I can .
Thanx all .

224549 2004-04-01 07:28:00 If you've broken something, the you were "rooting around", which is a big No-no..... Only login as root when you need to.

...Either that, or if its user-specific then simply rm /home/username/.appname folder (eg, Gaim would be rm -rf /home/piet/.gaim).

Good to hear you're not put off by a few minor mishaps

Cheers
