2004-03-22 22:12:00 | I'm with Ihug. Went with them because a friend recommended them, and I didn't know anything about PCs or the internet. Back then (1996), I paid about $40/month for unlimited access. I've changed plans several times since, but now I get all-u-can-eat internet for $19.95 (student rates). PLUS: 5mb Homepage (haven't used it yet, looking into it...) 5 email addresses Good solid connections 95% of the time (Palmerston North) Helpdesk can be a bit slow sometimes, but the only time I bother calling is if I lose my password Lizard

2004-03-23 00:10:00 | Greetings, In the past I have been with Voyager and Ihug. I have been with Paradise for the last four months and have found them ok. As good as my previous ISP's. Good luck with your survey.

2004-03-23 00:42:00 | Just as a side-note here, wouldnt it be a good idea to limit the "votes" to people who have been with one or more ISP's? Otherwise its like saying "I find Windows 95 the best, Ive used it all my life and nothing else - Its good, does what I need" etc..... Now, if you were to compare it against something "I find windows 95 the best because it runs on my older hardware where Windows2K/XP wouldnt" would be a fair vote for Win95 in this scenario. See my point, or am I on the wrong path here? Chill.

2004-03-23 01:27:00 | > um yeah im taking the isp's that people are currently > using. But the point is, how are they going to know theirs is the best if they've not used another ISP to compare it to?

2004-03-23 01:50:00 | Why not just quote the numbers from the PC World readers choice awards? It has a much larger sample size (thousands) compared to a handful of meaningful replies from this thread. Your margin of error will be a lot less.

2004-03-23 03:58:00 | Chill is right People (like me) who've only had one ISP aren't qualified to make comparisons. So I hope nobody marking your assignment is going to take the results too seriously..? Also - Your sample is too small - and restricted to people who bother to reply, rather than being truly random. A statistician wouldn't call it a proper survey. BUT - having said all that, it's interesting for the rest of us to read these opinions - either as a bit of fun, or a source of new information. So keep them rolling in...
