224408 2004-03-25 04:32:00 You can associate CXOffice with .exe files somewhere in the setup.......... Cant remember where but I know you can :-) Chilling_Silence (9)
224409 2004-03-25 05:01:00 Thanks Terry. I had tried that, but it didn't work as a result of "operator error". I re-checked this after your post, and found I had not checked a little box before applying the change. Now sorted. I reinstalled an .exe file and it works, and installs properly.

Have you installed Acrobat Reader? I did the Linux install, and after I finally sorted myself out using the Console for the install, it works when I double click on a .pdf file, but I am darned if I can get it listed properly in the Launch menu. When I use Menu Editor I just can't seem to get it to "see" the application itself. Still, not a biggie.

Cheers
John

John. I seem to have a similar problem with .exe files after reinstalling Crossover, which "little box" had you not checked???

224414 2004-03-25 10:29:00 I found it a bit obscure Terry .

Go Launcher/Applications/Crossover/Office Setup, then select the Associations menu, uncheck 'Show common file types only' and you will see a variety of extensions .

Locate exe under Extension, and go to the right hand column and check the wee box under Enabled . . .

Worked for me!

224415 2004-03-26 08:36:00 Thanks John for that tip, it all works now. The box must have been enabled by default when Xandros was installed, but not when Crossover was subsequently re-installed.

I feel better now, I have restored the MS Solitaire version :) :)

Now maybe there is time to do a quick HTOTW :D
