224888 2004-03-24 11:54:00 I have Windows XP Home and Outlook Express. Have 4 or 5 email addresses that I use for different purposes - such as one for close friends - another for net enquiries and so on. Lately I am getting huge increases in spam mail. Is there a way of setting the Outlook Express opening window - which for the "in box" shows the headings of "from/subject/received" to also show the ADDRESS to which the particular email has been sent. I have tried but can not find a way. If I knew that an "odd" message was received to my "mates only" email address it would be simple to send it to the "bin". Others, if I knew the address to which they are sent, could greatly assist in deciding if the message was spam or not. Presently I adopt a very careful approach and find I delete some that are not spam because I do not recognise the sender/email address . Any suggestions please. Thx. tuktuk (4638)
224889 2004-03-24 12:09:00 My initial thought is to use the 'messge rules'.

Why not create a few rules so that, where the to line contains people and then add an appropriate name of one of your emails then move to specified folder and then create folders for these to go to.

or even easier, use mailwasher (http://www.mailwasher.net/) to sort it for you.

224890 2004-03-24 20:43:00 Select View/Columns
Select TO for it to appear at the top of the message pane.

You can adjust the size of the From, Subject, To boxes by clicking on the divider between them and dragging left or right to make the box the correct size to show the details you want to see.

224891 2004-03-25 09:47:00 Thanks Jim B - just what I was hoping was available. But the option you suggest is greyed out - the only options I can access are "layout' "next" and "go to folder". So now can you suggest how I can get the "column" option activated? tuktuk (4638)
224892 2004-03-25 10:15:00 Jim B - I have now got the suggestion you gave me up and running so please disregard my message just a few minutes earlier. Much appreciate your advice and help. Cheers. Tuk Tuk tuktuk (4638)
