| 224881 | 2004-03-24 11:41:00 | Just got myself an older WinTV TV tuner card from a friend... downloaded and installed all the necessary software for it. I'm up to tuning the card in and have attached an aerial, but when I go to tune it in I can't see any channels at all even if I use the Auto Scan option. It also has around 4 PAL options to choose from. Can anyone help me set this card up and tune it? Thanks, Wintertide |

| 224882 | 2004-03-24 11:43:00 | You will need a reasonable (outside) aerial usually. PAL-D or PAL BG sould work. If you still see nothing at all, perhaps the front end is dead? |

| 224883 | 2004-03-24 11:49:00 | Will try an outside aerial and see if it works... I don't have a PAL-D option but I do have a PAL-BGHIDK option... just tried it and all I got was static. Just did a scan on all channels though as well and got a picture (even though you couldn't see it properly) so the front end is working. Thanks for your help. |

| 224884 | 2004-03-24 12:59:00 | As GF said, they require a really powerful and good signal to work properly... rabbits ears etc won't cut it - it really needs to be a decent well oriented external aerial to get anything close to a good signal on them. Good test is to hook a video player up to the video in and see what that shows. |
