224877 2004-03-24 11:40:00 I posted a query two months ago about cases suitable for building "quiet" or "silent" computers. Listed under "computer cases" but so far no replies to my enquiry. Surely there are lots of folk out there interested in this subject - so am reposting this message in the hope that I will get an opinion, two or three or more???? Thx. tuktuk (4638)

There was a great article in PC World a number of months ago that tackled this subject. I particularly remember a computer with a convection cooling case (didn't look as good as the iMac, but it was quiet).

224879 2004-03-25 00:04:00 There are lots of people interested in quiet computers but the problem with your last thread was that you asked for other people's views on a certain brands of cases so the reason you got no response is probably due to no one having any experience with those ones.

Generally you get what you pay for - cheaper cases are made of lighter steel and tend to vibrate/rattle more than the dearer, more solid cases. A search on Google will turn up lots of information and advice on building quiet computers. Have a browse around Overclockers NZ (http://forums.overclockers.co.nz/) as well - they are quite passionate about this subject.
