224681 2004-03-23 21:24:00 Hi guys,

Using WinXP Pro, I have a query: I've noticed that when looking in folders that have photos, I can successfully choose which view i want, like Thumbnails, Tiles, Icons, List, Details, etc .

But I've noticed that other computers, have more options like 'Filmstrip' and 'Preview' . Those other computers are WinXP as well .

Where can I find this on my computer?

Thanks,
Caffy

try R) clicking the folder, select properties, customise and then select the folder template from the dropdown list.

Anyone else got any ideas?

224684 2004-03-25 00:30:00 Some of these options (filmstrip) will appear if the folder contains only compatable images. It should automatically appear under these circumstances. Works for me. godfather (25)
224685 2004-03-25 00:32:00 I am viewing photos...not things like word documents etc.

So I guess it should then appear as an option...I'm trying to find out why it doesnt?

Make sure the folder contains ONLY pictures. Any other file in the folder(apart from thumbs.db) would mean the option could not appear.

224688 2004-03-25 02:42:00 Hi Caffy, just did a quick search and one result was that this will happen:
If you select Use Windows classic folders in the Folder Options.

To resolve this issue, select Show common tasks in folder:

1. Double-click the My Computer icon.
2. On the Tools menu, click Folder Options.
3. On the General tab, click Show common tasks in folder under Tasks.
4. Click OK.
