| 225271 | 2004-03-26 09:29:00 | how to network !. check if the 2 computers already have network cards (look around the back. looks like a modem port, but with a yellow LED and a greed LED next to the port) 2. if no network card in one or both of the compuers, buy a network card for the computer(s) that don't have them 3. buy a CROSSOVER cable - NOT A STRAGHT THROUGH ONE. THEY ARE FOR CONNECTING TO A ROUTER/HUB! 4. install cards, and plug in cable at both end 5. set up networking. if using XP and 98, 98SE, ME or XP use the network set up wizard, then select (make network set up floppy) and put in a blank floppy any questions, or not able to use network set up wizard post here |
