| 225034 | 2004-03-25 06:21:00 | had an old Lucent Win modem - connected slow at 34 kbs, Win xp professional - so installed new Genius Lucent win modem plug and play, windows picked up drivers, all settings checked, and we have no dial tone! Checked line, connection plugs, and wall - all ok, and tested line Also tried new driver off disk that came with modem, thought it might be a driver issue...strange, still no go. Any help? |

| 225035 | 2004-03-25 06:27:00 | Is there no dial tone (turn on the modem speaker), or is the modem not detecting dial tone (because it is not set for NZ)? | Graham L (2) | ||
| 225036 | 2004-03-25 06:53:00 | f/bear goto phone&modems in c/panel. click modems click properties click modem tab at the top make sure that "wait for dial tone is NOT ticked and/or untick it. If the modems queries OK it'll be your software. Also some modems like to have the drivers loaded first and then the actual h/ware and others not. Try it both ways. |

| 225037 | 2004-03-25 08:00:00 | another way goto phone&modems in c/panel. click modems click properties advanced.................then type in X3 into the advanced settings box then hit apply okokok etc........this'll make the modem ignore the 'no dial tone'.....and try to dial even if there IS no dial tone.........luck |
