| 225119 | 2004-03-25 12:46:00 | You mean all this stuff was on the news 2 nights ago??? Well that article in the herald was only written today (25th Thurs) at 2pm, which is the first I'd heard of it. But then I don't watch the news at night much anyway. > Either directly or indirectly as Telecom seek profitability from all aspects of their operation. It could be in staffing (we pay in tax for welfare) or in services provided (higher telephone network costs) etc. Well with all the new competition around, wireless, telstraClear etc I don't think they can afford to increase prices to compete properly. $10 Million probably isn't a lot of money to telecom. Their profits for the last year were in 9 figures. Its more of a smack on the bum to tell them to stop doing it. $600mil to Microsoft is only about 5c to them as well. |
