225235 2004-03-25 23:58:00 Hi All

I am investigating purchasing banner advertising on a trading website but was wondering how many people have banners turned off.

I see from previous posts that some PF!er's have them blocked, and with data load becoming a bigger issue with ASDL etc, I wonder if the general user is also becoming more aware of the ability to turn off banners.

Am I wasting my money on banner ads????, (maybe I should advertise in PC World instead!!!)

Thanks in advance

225236 2004-03-26 01:38:00 i for 1 have banner ads disabled. i would imagine that more and more users are doing this.

also with browsers like firefox, you can right click on any ad picture, and choose block imaages from....
or choose to view images only from the originating website.
or not load images at all.

so it's getting even easier to do.

225237 2004-03-26 02:26:00 Banners are a pain, especially blinking or animated ones. If they show up in my browsers at all I hardly ever look at them.

Yeah, why not? I read all the adverts in there! :D

225238 2004-03-26 02:52:00 I agree with nadius and Susan B.

I've had them turned off for so long I can hardly remember what they were like.

I've got animations turned off too.

my 2c worth :D
