2004-03-28 04:51:00 | Only buy the Corsair ram if you want to overclock, you kind of have the wrong cpu for overclocking because it is already clocked quite high. check to see if it is multiplier unlocked in the BIOS? if it isnt you have no chance of gettin to 200mhz FSB thus the new ram is a waste of money. The geforce fx5700 is a waste of money, consider a geforce fx5900XT for a lil bit more, or even a Radeon 9800non pro. These card wont cost much more and will offer far better preformance over your current card | Pete O'Neil (250) | |
2004-03-28 04:54:00 | well i wouldnt consider the 5700 a waste of money as from everything i have seen it performs quite considerably faster than the 5600 i have and is about on par with the 9600 and besides it is right on the limit of what my parents will allow me to spend, although maybe by mid march prices will have come down | robert6655 (5176) | |
2004-03-28 06:09:00 | Don't forget buying overseas makes returns/replacements/warranties very difficult to follow up on, particularly for delicate items such as RAM. Just a thought.

2004-03-28 06:22:00 | yes a good one too wtf im buying from new egg but i dunno if that would make a difference, i would either have ot be prepared to just wear the cost of the items not working or wear the cost of sending them back, pity i cant go over to and test whatever i get in my uncles computer (my parents r staying with my uncle) | robert6655 (5176) | |
2004-03-28 06:55:00 | Could be a great excuse for a trip :D Most of the time you're fine, just a reminder - I had some major issues ordering 2 MP3 players from the states although managed to resolve them all without returning them thank goodness. newegg have a really good reputation too so that definitely is in your favour.

2004-03-29 08:19:00 | I think you will be very disapointed if you waste your money on a FX5700. You will notice very little if not any real world preformance increase. It such a waste of money to buy a whole new video card when u'd be lucky to see a 5-10% increase in benchmarks(note benchmark are mearly a guide as 5-10% may only equate to a few frames which in the real world wont be noticable). In the end its your money but its seems to me your only buying these things cause you can, why not buy a nice case and high quality PSU? | Pete O'Neil (250) | |
2004-03-29 08:22:00 | adn im not even going to waste my time trying to convince you that it is a waste of money buy a vid card with 256mb or ram..... | Pete O'Neil (250) | |
