I am using Win XP and find that when I try to run msconfig, the box appears then very soon just disappears before I can check any of the settings. I want to check the startup settings - where would I find the boot log? |

That's a typical symptom of a virus. Plenty info on this site and elsewhere on what do do to fix it. |

Thanks for that. I checked out all the virus and worms listed, but could discover no trace of any of them on my computer. I use AVG which is up to date and no virus infection is identified. Msconfig seems to be fine again but regedit only keep srunning when opened with a different name.
So the mystery remains. Any more ideas? |
