| 225903 | 2004-04-02 22:13:00 | I have a new P.C using XP and have had no end of trouble installing a 3-in-one, had to do a complete format twice, Hewlet Packard have a critical update out that explains that if you plug in the USB lead before the software and update are installed it may erase some of the operating system files, this is H/P maybe the same applies to Cannon, but follow the instuctions to the letter anyway was good advice. | 225904 | 2004-04-03 04:53:00 | you can try 2 ways to install the thing. I sell the things and have success with either one. 1:Unplug the MFC and delete all drivers and software. Do a disk cleanup etc to try and remove any traces. Install from the CD and THEN when prompted plug in the printer and power. Follow the directions EXACTLY as per previous posts 2: Uninstall everything etc and then just plug the MFC in. Let the XP connection wizard install the MFC and try from there. You can also go to the Canon website and get the updated drivers for the machine which also makes a big difference . www.canon.co.nz |

| 225905 | 2004-04-04 02:18:00 | First uninstall the drivers. Reboot the computer to make sure its properly deleted. Now install the driver before you connect the USB to the computer. Once the drivers have been installed connect the MFD to the computer via the USB Port. Now go into the Device Manager and update the drivers from the list. Points the destination of the new drivers on the CD ROM. This worked for me Tinkerer |
