226028 2004-03-30 08:39:00 Its bound to be the same software that is with my S602.

While I normally never load camera software, the supplied package does work well. and automates the task. It creates folders with a date code and renumbers the pictures as it transfers them.

Even though I use a card reader 90% of the time, I still use it to launch the Finepix software to save the images in a consistent manner.

So, my advice is to use the supplied software.
The camera will still show up as a removeable drive under Windows Explorer, and you can drag and drop from there, but the software makes it easy.

You can customise where it locates the files etc.

Can we please have a sample photo from the camera?

beetle draped over the bonnet of a car in a seductive pose would be fine thanks. The car need not be moving at the time, your choice...

226030 2004-03-30 10:58:00 100 - 200kB should be fine for on screen viewing.

I just emailed a pix that I took at 3 Mpixels, reduced it to 60 kB and it still viewed OK.

I am sure Sal won't mind, he can delete files at no notice. Its a great service that he offers.

226032 2004-03-30 11:18:00 What image editing program do you use?

If Irfanview, open the picture, File - Save As - give it a new name and slide the "save quality" slider lower - try about 15.

Then view it in Windows explorer and look at the properties.

226033 2004-03-30 11:38:00 An easy way to to reduce the image size:
If you have Win XP, you can download the Power Tools pack off this month's PC World CD and install the facility to reduce images in Explorer. Then all you do is right click the jpeg and click Resize Images.

In an instant 1 Mb jpegs are reduced to 50 Kb and my (admittedly bloodshot) eyes cannot tell the difference.
