226307 2004-04-01 00:15:00 First, the good news. My scanner is now working. I coppied the files to my hard drive. Opened the Cabs and installed from hard drive.
Now, memory test. I ran the test reccomended by SKT174. I left it running for an hour and it reported Slot A0 0 errors. (Good) Slot A2 233947 errors (Bad).
So it looks like I have a faulty ram stick.
Would it help if I removed it and left the other stick in? 512 megs should be enough.
I don't understand it, but the report showed three "Failed" and the fourth one still "Active"
Is my interpretation correct?
Can I safely phone PC Sale and hit the roof?

226308 2004-04-01 02:22:00 Should be no need to hit the roof. ;-) Just tell them that the memory test showed that one stick is faulty, and the problems you have had. They will be familiar with the symptoms, and should replace the memory without argument, since it's only 3 months old. Graham L (2)
226309 2004-04-01 02:34:00 Well I removed the faulty ram and have installed Office and NAV without problems. All seems well. JJJJJ (528)
