226806 2004-04-03 02:27:00 I have just installed the demo of Colin McRae Rally from the latest PC World disc...I also own a flying game (Battle over Normandy)
Considering both games are differing in the controlling, any advice on what sort of controller to buy ?
Cheers Linz.

226808 2004-04-03 06:31:00 A joystick with throttle control and pov is a must have for Flight games(im not about to call that game a sim).I have a ms sidewinder precision 2 that does the job nicely.

These are not made anymore so the best recomendation would be the stick from logitch,i forget what its called but its very similar.

These aren't dedicated flight sim controls though, you need to go a bit higher up the money spectrum to get those, and i find they feel weak, especially the thrustmaster model i had.

For the current crop of driving games that have their develpment routed in the console market a gamepad with anolouge sticks is your best bet,i have a gravis eliminator aftershock that does nicely on arcade driving games such as the CM rally series,NFS games,Rugby league,Prince of persia.

Then i have a MS Force feedback steering whell for the real car sims, which are far and few between nowadays.....

226809 2004-04-03 06:35:00 This is similar to the logitech stick i once had,

except that one is force feedback.

Looks good to me,and the last logitech stick i had lasted 12 months of nightly games of MCM2 online, put it through hell.

Heres a gamepad from the same company,i must say that i don't particly like the look of this one,but it has dual anologe sticks(although one is enough).

I thought maybe you were referring to the forum's rules about business advertising. ;-)

226814 2004-04-03 10:02:00 And maybe not.

If the joystick page is empty then either there are no Joysticks for sale or the web site needs updating I would have thought?

Before Metla complains about this post I would have thought that a web site update will be appropriate with all items Metla has for sale or can get maybe.

If Metla is running a shop in Wanganui then I wish Hin/Her luck.

To look at Metlas' site then look at Metlas profile.

There you go Metla. Another advert for you.

That as well,i would rather be considered a person who is part of the PressF1 community then a retailer trying to promote gear in every thread,im sure if it was left unchecked by the mods it would still wear thin quite quickly with the rest of the crew.
