| 226902 | 2004-04-03 10:29:00 | Hi Beetle First of all, find out what version of DirectX you currently have. Go Start > Run. Type in dxdiag - Enter. You will see on the summary page your current DirectX version. You may need DirectX9 for that game. Did the readme/help files suggest this? DirectX9b (latest version) is included on the April PCW cover disk. If you still have DirectX8, you may like to install DirectX9b - but make sure you set a restore point first. Version 9 can only be removed safely by using System Restore to roll the system back. |

| 226904 | 2004-04-03 10:49:00 | A quick google around shows this for the game: Minimum Requirements (Single player) Windows 98SE/ME/2000/XP DirectX 9b Pentium III or Athlon at 750MHz 256Mb RAM Supported 32Mb Graphics Card DirectX 9 Compatible Sound Card 220MB Hard Disk Space So yes, you will need to upgrade to DirectX 9b. Grab it off the same NZ PCW disk. >and you saying it may cause probs so create restore point???? It cannot be uninstalled easily. So once installed you can only remove it by using System Restore if you find you are having problems - however it normally behaves very well, so set a point (just in case) and you should be fine using it. :) Have fun with the game :) |
