| 227065 | 2004-04-04 05:02:00 | My system has developed a queer fault.most of the screen is darkened as though it has a polarizing filter on it.it runs across the screen right to the bottom of the page.so if I am looking at the Google home page I can see and read everything displayed but only the top 35mm is as it should be the rest of the page appears as though you are looking through a filter have used GO Back hoping that would fix matters no luck I have scanned the system for a virus nothing found have cleaned out the registry and performed a scan clean up still have not fixed it. The monitor 6 months old and is a Philips Lightframe the operating system is win.98seI have tried installing the Philips lightframe software but the fault is still there.any thoughts. | 227066 | 2004-04-04 05:07:00 | Have you tried degaussing it? If the monitor is put near anything magnetic it can create problems - the monitor should have a DEGAUSS function on the on screen display menu - try that. | HadO (796) | ||
| 227067 | 2004-04-04 05:17:00 | Does it look like there is a gradual decrease in brightness and you move to the bottom of the screen or is it more like a step? Turning down the brightness may help in identifying this. It is nothing to do with degaussing, it sounds like a black-level clamping fault. Can you give us any more information? Try it on another computer as the fault could lie in the monitor or your video card. Cheers Billy 8-{) |
