226981 2004-04-03 23:18:00 What version of Windows are you using? You may possibly have your cookies setting too high - try lowering it one or two settings. tommy (2826)
226982 2004-04-09 21:17:00 I have got Windows XP Pro. My cookie settings is on Medium. It seems that MSN Mssgner is not recognising that I am on the internet.

I have downloaded the new version from the MSN Messenger website and tried to install it...comes up as saying there is an error code 1601. Plse go to website and download again. Which I have done.

Plse help me! Thanks.

I don’t know if this is related, but I also can’t sign in to MSN messenger, I get the same error message as you.

I have win ME & MSN messenger 5.0, ISP: Xtra JetStreem starter
Plus my Jet Stream starter connection is going slow, or I think it is :(

Who is your ISP?

226984 2004-04-10 07:33:00 Hi

Do you have a firewall e.g. Zone Alarm installed? This may prevent you from connecting. If you do, don't disable Zone Alarm, just add MSN messenger to the programs list.

Are you on a Network? For security reasons, some networks block the port MSN uses to connect.

Kind Regards,

William
