| 1360030 | 2013-11-17 05:01:00 | Previously all types of sound played very well. Currently music -all types- from existing files or on videos is normal, but voices on videos are distorted. Voices on radio broadcasts are less clear than normal and require much increased volume with consequent background noise. In a video with music and commentary (eg news clip), the volume of voices is very low in comparison to the background music. With the commentator alone or in interviews, need to turn up volume. This problem seemed to occur for no reason. No new programs or known modifications/adjustments. Computer is: PCsale On Line, about 5 years old. (Win XP Pro OS with all updates.) ASUS P5K SE Motherboard Intel QUAD Core Q6600 (4 x 2.4GHz) Processor 512MB ASUS Extreme N8500GT PCI-Express Graphics etc (more specifics on hardware available if required) I have been unsuccessfull in remedying this through Control Panel/Realtek HD Sound Effect Manager - but there are so many variables.... Have also worked through Control Panel/Sounds and Audio Devices - again unsuccessfully. Any assistance greatly appreciated - it's probably something simple which a non geek like me fails to comprehend. |

| 1360031 | 2013-11-17 07:41:00 | Check to make sure the audio / Speaker plug is in fully, unplug it and put it back. Had a similar problem on the Mrs Computer today, audio was terrible all of a sudden, unplugged the speakers plugged them back in - Fixed :2cents: |

| 1360033 | 2013-11-18 21:06:00 | It might perhaps maybe be something to do with the sound driver converting to psudo surround: that will move vocal to the centre (that you dont have) & put background music etc into Left & right. So the vocal will be harder to hear . |

| 1360034 | 2013-11-25 02:58:00 | Many thanks Senior Member. It transpires that the Sound Effect on the Equaliser setting had been set to Karoake and that Voice Cancellation had been activated.
