| 1359291 | 2013-11-10 03:49:00 | Hi there, I have downloaded Windows 8.1 Pro from Microsoft, was previously running Windows 7. I am attempting to install Windows 8 on my hard drive as a clean install. I have formatted the HDD during the installation process where you select which partition you wish to install Windows 8.1 onto. Currently the installation is hanging at "Getting files ready for installation" at 94%. Removing all USB devices from my laptop does no good, restarting and formatting again makes no difference, nor does creating a new partition and installing it there. Stuck for ideas, anyone else ran into this issue? Going to try and burn the ISO to a USB drive now, but I remember having nightmares with my laptop and trying to get it to boot from USB. Will post any progress. |
