| 1338543 | 2013-04-27 23:35:00 | www.stuff.co.nz WIN! IMHO this is exactly the type of offending that this law is meant to target. This scrote would otherwise continue this pattern of crime and short stints inside for life, impacting on a continuous string of lives. I'm sure the hand-wringers would see it different if it was them or their loved ones who was one of his targets. I couldn't give a flying **** if he has foetal alcohol syndrome or is just stupid or whatever - the law is meant to protect the rest of society from this type of behaviour regardless of it's "cause". The answer is simple - if he wants to avoid a long stretch - STOP BASHING PEOPLE! |

I dunno) Point is NZ needs a law crackdown, across the board. It's far too easy for a certain minority to constantly reoffend, usually because "the juice is worth the squeeze". We need to ensure that the juice is *not* worth the squeeze so the offending doesn't take place to begin with. Then, there won't be an issue of overcrowding etc in prisons if young thugs know any kind of minor offending will see them locked up for a good amount of time. In the end, it's a win for everybody! |

| 1338550 | 2013-04-28 20:14:00 | The excuse of having foetal alcohol syndrome should not ever be used as an excuse to permit further offending. If that was the case, then we could also justify arguments that having a lesion in area xyz of the brain is why VillianA is a compulsive killer. It's not his fault. He doesn't wish to kill, but his brain lesion is responsible for his anger and lack of control. He's not really a killer (despite 3 previous murders). Basically, if someone is unable to restrain their behaviour to fit within the safety limits our culture and laws have set, then they should not be loose in our society. Preventive detention is justified for the public safety. It would be absurd to let a compulsive killer loose because of his 'rights', when he will almost certainly steal all the rights (and the life) of every one of his victims. Yes, a criminal has rights, but they became criminals by defying the rights of other people (repeatedly). When do the rights of the many take precedence over the rights of the single criminal? Roll on Sensible Sentencing, and lets lock up all the out of control human trash. Failure to do so will just allow the epidemic of human trash to continue to spread. |

| 1338552 | 2013-04-28 22:47:00 | Some insight and fair comment from Whale Oil in this morning's blog: Various lefty sooks are wailing that if this loser crim steal a hat or another skateboard or maybe some lollies that he might get sent down for 14 years . That would be true if it wasnt so false . His first conviction they say is that he only stole $68 . Except he didnt . What he actually did was punch the victim in the head multiple times before taking the $68 . He was sentenced, not for the robbery, but for the aggravated part . He is a violent little thug . The next crime for which is has just been sentenced is likewise dismissed as small beer by the media . Saying that he was sent down for stealing a hat, skateboard and other meaningless trophies . Again, he was charged with aggravated robberies, that is he violently assaulted people in the street for their possessions . It isnt what he stole that has landed him in prison it is HOW he stole . He didnt pick pockets, he assaulted the victims, punched them and damaged them, then he stole . He is a bully boy violent thug who now because of these laws he is getting his beans as well he should . The liberal panty-waists who are wailing are never ones to volunteer to take these poor mis-understand yoof into their own homes to care and cherish them with loads of hugs and cuddles are they? (Emphasis mine) Why can't the media tell it how it is? |
