1337804 2013-04-23 05:21:00 I went little crazy with my fire alarm / security system.

The fire alarms are hard-wired into the security alarm. They run off the alarm system battery, if needed.

Each sensors uses a "EOL" resistor, to detect cable problems.

Everything is hooked up to an SMS modem and the Internet. Beside the siren, I get a texts and emails.

I also have exterior and interior cameras, accessible by the Internet.

I know it's completely over the top.

Sounds like a pretty good setup to me.

1337805 2013-06-04 05:51:00 I think the main thing is that you protect your self from the fire or anything like that so that's why you must have a smoke alarm in your bedroom so that's why you can protect your self from any uncertainty that may happen with you in your room. Morkal (17060)
1337806 2013-06-04 10:05:00 Yeah, I spent two days trying to find the cricket in my food pantry once before figuring out it was the smoke detector in the hallway.

I am undecided whether that is worse than what I did or not. The first time I used the self-cleaning function of my oven it started screeching once it had reached the very high temperature required. Scared witless, thinking that it was a fault alarm in the oven, I hastily turned it off and got on the phone to tell the shop the oven had a fault. They gave me the number of the service department who were scratching their heads wondering what this mysterious oven alarm was. It wasn't until after I hung up that I realised it was the smoke alarm.
