1338383 2013-04-25 23:40:00 Best wishes from me too, LL

And also from me. I have had two brothers in law have similar ops done in Hamilton in the past 15 years and they are both ok today.

1338384 2013-04-27 14:23:00 Hi LW Lady, I had a quad bypass about 20 odd years agowhen I was 51. This followed a couple of heart attacks 10 years apart and the effect was truly amazing. I was using my puffer spray about 7 times a day to keep the angina to a usable level - not at all funny. After the bypass I was a different guy - I've never used or needed the puffer from that day to this.
The heart problem was partly genetic as my Father and Grandfather and G Grandfather all died from heart attacks. Of course there wasn't the treatment available in their day. I say partly genetic - I was a dumb bugger who smoked - bad bad choice. Not a good move!
All the best for your son - far too young for that but he'll be running around like a two year old in no time. Eat sensibly, Get lots of excersize and for god's sake don't smoke.

1338385 2013-04-27 21:13:00 That is very encouraging, thanks people! I think that he will be discharged tomorrow all being well. He's doing ok and is off all the drips and drains etc. He is not a smoker, but is diabetic and on insulin at the moment. I guess he'll come home with a bucket load of pills to take!
