1359978 2013-11-16 09:41:00 Article HERE (www.hardwarepal.com).

Of course a compatible motherboard will be needed :stare:

And lets remember other factors such as latency will determine the speed of a computer.

1359980 2013-11-16 23:47:00 I have DDR3 on my computer at the moment. Would I be able to upgrade to DDR4? Bobh (5192)
1359981 2013-11-17 03:12:00 Dont think so. Looks like DDR3 has 240 pins DDR4 has 288 Speedy Gonzales (78)

Nope. Since memory controllers are integrated onto the CPUs, not only would you need compatible motherboards, but also CPUs.
And I could be wrong, but I don't think there are any CPUs that currently support DDR4.

1359984 2013-11-19 02:41:00 Well, it means a whole new CPU and MB to get DDR4. It's a good excuse to upgrade! :) ChazTheGeek (16619)
