| 227937 | 2004-04-08 00:06:00 | I have 80Gb Hard drive with two partitions, C & D. I have XP Home on C. I wish to install Win 98SE on D. When I start setup it says that I already have an OS on the disk and threatens to overwrite config.sys and auto exec.bat. I can see no option available to direct the install to D drive. Any advice on how to do this would be appreciated. |

When you install XP make sure you tick the box where it says 'Let me decide which partition to install to' this being 'D', if 'D' is your 2nd partition . regards |

Boot from the XP CD and go into recovery console and restore the MBR. 4. Edit boot.ini for dual boot. Some more details may need to be provided if you decide to proceed? |

Apart from that, I think it's a bit difficult. You could however, transfer everything to D: and format C:, install Win98 and reinstall XP on D: it may work, it may not. Noel Nosivad. |
