228783 2004-04-12 03:55:00 You can get them in NZ - here are a couple of websites I found with google:

Site one (www.macsense.co.nz)

Site two (homepages.ihug.co.nz).

You can probably find them elsewhere as well :)

228784 2004-04-12 04:07:00 OK well the "Site one" link won't be helpful as they are wholesalers and not resellers (just noticed this :8})

However, this site here has them for a good price - here (www.griffler.co.nz).

228785 2004-04-12 05:22:00 would the USB port be able to supply enough current? i mean something for heating you coffee would use a fair bit, wouldnt it? agent_24 (4330)
228786 2004-04-12 06:49:00 Good old Physics formula:
V=IR
Voltage(v)=Current(A)xResistence(ohms)

So... when the voltage remains the same, when the circuit removes abit of the resistence found in normal coffee heaters, you'd find that the current is increased, thus, still able to do the job ;-) But still, I'm just off to the textbooks to find out how much of a revelence this has to the heating thing... :8} First thing I will learn this holi... :D

228787 2004-04-12 06:50:00 500 mA @ 5v = 2.5 watts...
Barely even "warming", certainly not "heating".
Thats assuming it does not shut down the USB ports.
Not something I would choose to use.

I agree, it's not a very wise idea to use this...
