228730 2004-04-12 00:30:00 My Wife has lost a couple of e-mails she has been writing and doesn't know how she has done it except that she says she has hit one of the keys on the LH side of the key board. I have tried to find the lost emails but they seem to be completely erased. Anyone any idea what key she might have hit and is there a way of finding the lost emails.I use outlook express and microsoft xp home.

228731 2004-04-12 00:42:00 I take it you have looked in the Drafts folder? On a standard keyboard, I cannot see what key on the left hand side would cause an email to be deleted. Do you have a multimedia style keyboard with the extra function keys along the top? Perhaps one of them are programmed to exit a program without saving? When the email vanished, did the whole Outlook Express program exit? Jen C (20)
228732 2004-04-12 01:46:00 My wife has done exactly the same on a couple of occasions now "I dont know what key I hit but my email I was typing has disappeared". We are still at a loss to know what key she hit, but I found if you click on "Undo" the email reappears, or it did in my case.

Hope this helps

228733 2004-04-12 04:19:00 Jen Yes we have the multimedia key board but don't think she hit any of the buttons as they are all along the top. Will ask my wife to remember what exactly happens next time (thats if the screen isn't broken in anger )

I will also ask her to try the undu button and see if that works thanks everyone kk

228734 2004-04-12 05:21:00 Hitting the Control (Ctrl) key instead of the Shift key when typing could cause the text to disappear in some instances. i.e. Ctrl +A would select all the text and the next key struck would over write it. Clicking on undo would restore the original text. Davesdad (923)
