228704 2004-04-11 22:37:00 I was just trying to boot from my second harddrive, but it won't boot and displayed the following message: "Invalid system disk, replace the disk, and then press any key".

What does this mean? How can I fix it? (I am running Windows XP)
plzhelpmenow (5507)
228705 2004-04-11 22:43:00 Does it have a valid bootable installation of Windows on it?

Do you have a floppy disk in A: drive that you have overlooked?

228706 2004-04-11 22:48:00 If the other disk is still installed, you might have a problem. You need to use FDISK to make a partition active, and as GF says, it needs to have an OS on it too.

228707 2004-04-11 22:49:00 at a guess your secound hard drive has not got a operating system on it
nothing to worry about as your first disk has the operating system on ( Again guessing).
Also please a bit more information such as
cpu Mother board and ram
and in this case how the hard drives are set up
example
primary hard drive-os xp
secondary hard drive - data ( guess) or if it has an operaating system list it please

228708 2004-04-11 22:52:00 i have winxp installed on it and the partition should already be active, but i don't know if winxp is working, because it used to have a message saying :NTLDR is missing. I went to microsoft using another OS and then followed the instructions on microsoft's website. Then i got the invalid system disk message. I have just copied the partition from another harddrive, where it was working. Is there something i did wrong? plzhelpmenow (5507)
228709 2004-04-12 01:49:00 You can't just "copy" the active partition over.

You need to use an imaging program (Ghost etc) or "install" the OS. Hence the error.
