228493 2004-04-11 01:28:00 My "D" drive, which is actually a partition, is damaged but I have too much data to back up and I most certainly don't want to loose it. The partition is FAT32 and I am looking for a way to fix the partition without loosing or damaging any of the data.

Can anybody help me?
John

228495 2004-04-11 02:50:00 I have had the same symptoms before and was diagnosed by a pro as a damaged partition. I know the software is uncorrupted, I have no viruses and all software running of C runs perfectly. smashedlittlebugger (4397)

Be prepared to wipe the entire hard drive - as opposed to formatting - reinitialise the mbr, repartition, format, reinstall OS/application software etc .

228498 2004-04-11 09:43:00 The symptoms I am having are slow downs in games - extreme slowdowns and games crashing to the desktop with little or no error report. I do not want to write to CD's because I have too many saved games and documents on my D partition. I will only write to cd's if it is absolutely positively necessary. smashedlittlebugger (4397)
