I currently get 850KB/s when downloding demos from the JetStream Games site. I only have JetStart but you can use the full JetStream speed for JetStream games if you log on there. |

| 228674 | 2004-04-19 23:28:00 | I can honestly say I don't know the answer to your problem. You don't say much about your modem, I assume it is external as you say it's a router, they connect either with Lan or USB so there are no drivers involved, except a virtual Lan card driver if you connect via USB. Have you tried connecting to jetstream with the username user@jetstreamgames.co.nz in your router (no password needed) and go to gamers.paradise.net.nz and download one of there game files there, if you get full speed from there, then that would eliminated any problem with your computer or router and means the problem is probably at telecoms end. You could also try a download manager like Flashget and see if that makes any difference. I have only had Jetstream for a week, and I have to say it rocks! even though I am only on 256kB/s speed, on the Jetstreamgames login I get 380kB/s which is not bad concidering I am rural I can't beleive Big John's 850kB/s, that's crazy stuff! Anyway, good luck with your problem. |

| 228675 | 2006-06-12 05:22:00 | I've been with Jetstream now (home full speed) for about 6 months...And have noticed recently a sharp and shocking decline in my d/load speeds. Spoke to jetstream and they told me to try their speed test at jetstreamgames.co.nz 2 weeks ago I tried this and was getting speeds around the 150 kbytes/sec, which was a little slow, as when I first used jetstream it was lightening speed! Just tried it again now and am getting speeds approaching 6.7 k/bytes/sec, which gives me pause to SCREAM!!!!!!!. This is on the download from the automatic http link. Interestingly the ftp xfer rate is about the same, but the MANUAL http download is back to 520kbytes/sec (9 meg downloaded in 8 secs!) What is going on? I use mozilla 1.6 and if really pushed ie6. I've recently trashed my discs and reinstalled windows XP pro sp1. I've mucked about with my router (pragmatic knockoff), rebooted it, reentered all the guff (don't ask me what MAC spoofing is tho) makes no difference. Any ideas??? help would be appreciated... Hi, I registered espcially to post this, if you used to have a good speed and now don't then look into troubleshooting. Especially the filters. I found out by unplugging all the filters and doing another test that one of my filters was slightly faulty. Depending who your ISP is if they provided it they will usually replace it free of charge. And of course, it goes without saying, don't use a extension cable. Im on a 3.5MB plan and get around 250+ (upto 300) if its a good connection, otherwise most sites give me 150kbps, or sometimes 70kbps. Downloading using programs isn't as good though X.X |
