229058 2004-04-13 21:04:00 I know this topic has been aired before but I am looking for up to date info.
I am going to change my ISP,again, if I can find anyone better. I am with Ihug at the moment.
I want an ISP that does not drop idle connections. That is as fast as possable, continuously. Not one that is OK one day and pitiful the next.
I am out of range for Jetstream so please don't mention it.
I am thinking of Orcon at the moment. Any comments?

229059 2004-04-13 22:07:00 I insist, ISP will not make your connection any better or worse. You are running on Telecom lines after all. What I can suggest is transferring to Xtra (as much as some hate them). They have some of the best support crew. While your there, you can ring all you want to harass them to get someone down to your place to check your line. While the guy is there, moan, and hopefuly he'll replace the lines :p ~~~~~ s y ~~~~~ (2054)
229060 2004-04-13 22:38:00 Jack, have you tried setting your email client to check for emails every minute to keep your internet connection active? I found that to be a useful trick when my ISP disconnected me for taking too long to read some webpages. :-) Susan B (19)
