| 229063 | 2004-04-13 14:11:00 | Hey... Can someone tell me what cable from dickssmith.co.nz is the corect one for the following to be done.. (cables i found are... catalogue numbers: (C0008) (Y6383)(C1233)(C1236) (with the y6383 one is it possible to get something to plug on one end so i can use the same cable i use for my PS2 as i have 2 cables of those and 1 ps2 so obviously one cable is only in use) I went in there today and i think i must have had a non computer knowledge person as he didnt know what i was after even if i took a print out of whats written at the end of this posting in italics...so thats why i'm asking u guys for help so i can ask for the exact correct cable... To connect your computer to a TV, you need a standard S-video cable or an S-video to composite-video adapter with a standard RCA-type video cable. On the computer, the S-video port is a round, yellow connector. If the TV has an S-video input connector, plug one end of your S-video cable into the computer and the other end into the TV. If the TV has an RCA-type connector, plug the S-video to composite-video adapter into the computer, and connect the RCA-type cable from the adapter to the TV video input. It is not necessary to turn off the computer to make this connection. Make sure your TV is turned on and set to the appropriate channel for video input. Refer to your TVs manual to determine this channel. Note: The S-video port provides only video output. To connect audio output, use the headphone jack (small, round connector, colored green on some computers). Plug in a headphone, or plug in a stereo mini-phono cable and connect it to your TV or sound system. Cheers in Advance :) |

| 229065 | 2004-04-13 15:25:00 | the C0008 will give you RCA outs that you will then need a cable to do much wil it. Y6383 looks like its what you need. C1233 is NOT what you want C1236 is NOT what you want |

| 229066 | 2004-04-13 15:28:00 | if i get the C008 what cable do i need to get to go with that? | csinclair83 (200) | ||
| 229067 | 2004-04-14 03:18:00 | What connectors have you got on the TV end? RCA, or S-video, or SCART? If you have only RCA connectors: The C008 is the s-video to composite converter . From that, a 1x RCA to 1x RCA cable is what you need for the video connection . You will also need a 3 . 5mm jack plug to 2xRCA cable for the sound . C1243? This will give mono (unless your TV has stereo sound and two RCA connectors for sound), so there there'll be one RCA hanging . If you have a S-video connector at the set, you could just have a plain s-video to s-video cable . If yiou have a SCART, there's a cable there with s-video to SCART . That Y6383 looks to be very PS/2 specific . It's got the PS/2 connector at one end and a collection of AV connectors at the other . Unless the PS/2 connectors are hermaphrodite, and you can use two of them you're out of luck . |
