2004-04-14 01:52:00 | If you are screaming over this, I ask you to drop all your insurance IMMEDIATELY and never visit the doctor for a checkup, EVER AGAIN... The maintenance is simply a fee you pay to prevent the unexpected. Do some maths -if you can. They may be a monopoly, but how did they become one? It must have been service that lured customer in wouldn't it? If Telstar Clear is Mr. We're-The-Best, then, why is it, that after soooooo long, they are still having problems getting more customers. I hope you buy shares in Telstar Clear, you'll be quick to realise why it "is not as good" Telstar Clear deserves to stay in it's little hole between Wellington and Christchurch. All the above may not be relevant to everybody, but is my personal experience with Telstar. Thus, I am happy after all to be a supporter of Telecom. (and Microsoft :p) ;-)

2004-04-14 02:41:00 | They are a monopoly because they grew from the old Post and Telegraph department, which was a Government department that set up the telephone network throughout NZ, back in the good old days when everything was regulated and there was no such thing as competition. The way the telecommunications market is set up, it is virtually impossible for any full countrywide service company to compete. That is why LLU is so very important. End of history lesson - which I should never have had to give.

Bring in LLU, I can't wait to see what lame excuse for no customers are next. I doubt it'll make a big difference. NZ is slow and far behind. Full Stop. |

2004-04-14 04:19:00 | Search stuff written by the media? Don't think so.. they get paid to write nonsense, *not always, but alot* For the true facts, you got to read the letters to editor, thats where the majority of people will express their concern. Unfortunately, I don not feel theres enough of those. Do people actually think in depth. As a fact only the top few percent (won't quote percentage, as I may be wrong) of people in schools think in detail to find out the whys and hows behind every statement. But anyway... sorry to the original poster for going completely off topic. No more comment regarding this... :D Don't I just love to be who I am :D:p:8};)

2004-04-14 13:33:00 | You still don't understand as when I said pages I was meaning Web pages not your local newspaper. Do people actualy think in depth? No! Todays kids have an attention span of about 7 minutes. About eight years ago these teacher trainees were asked the same algerbra questions these twelve year olds were asked in 1912 or so and guess how did better.
