229372 2004-04-15 01:42:00 Hi there: I have an old Philips TV that has a SCART connector on the back of the TV. I am in the market for a DVD player and was wondering if anyone knew an easy way to find out if there are any players around that will send signal to my TV via the SCART connector? scott.walters (1268)
229373 2004-04-15 02:08:00 A SCART connector handles a combination of Sound and Video signals, and very few DVD Players will have this type of connector.

The best bet in terms of Picture Quality, would be to get a DVD player that has "Component" Video out i.e. separate RGB channels, and purchase a SCART to Component cable to hook it up.

Your SCART connector will handle Composite, Component and SVIDEO signal, so you could purchase any DVD Player on the market, and hook it up to your SCART Cable.

Dick Smith Electronics - Catalog P6675 (adapter) and use standard RCA and/or SVHS cables that come with the DVD player
