229271 2004-04-14 09:20:00 Hi all
Just tried to run Outlook but it wouldn't! It gave me the message,
Outlook.exe Ordinal Not Found
"The ordinal 36 could not be located in the dynamic link library mapi32.dll".
I reinstalled Outlook and it now runs ok, I've done this a couple of times and each time I reinstall Outlook it works fine until.....

Any ideas?

Thanks Dave

229272 2004-04-14 10:10:00 Are you, or have you, installed ACT?

If so, read here (itdomino.saleslogix.com) and here (itdomino.act.com)

Also, if you are using an early version of Outlook such as 97 with a later release of Windows, consider upgrading.

229274 2004-04-14 20:08:00 LOL

had a search on google and found this *ahem* solution (www.cbn.net.id)

Problem:
When I clik on one of the e-mail that has an attachment, I got error message "Outlook.exe Ordinal not found. The ordinal 23 couldnot be located in the dynamic link library Mapi32.dll" There is only OK button.

Solution:
Uninstall the MS Outlook 98 software and reinstall.

229275 2004-04-14 20:15:00 Sounds like that this sort of problem can occur with other MS products.

Found this (support.microsoft.com) at Micorsoft.

229276 2004-04-14 20:15:00 Thanks all..
So if I ned to uninstall, where is all my data stored?
Can I just copy the folders to a different location and then move them back once reinstalled?
DaveNZ (4458)
229277 2004-04-14 21:41:00 For your email folders... yes. Not sure if it'll work with your settings, but I wouldn't bother anyway. When you want your old emails back you could either copy the folders back or import them. Greg S (201)
229278 2004-04-15 09:00:00 Thanks allo
I need to find where the data is stored, I need to back up my contact and diary entries. Before I uninstall I need to save all my loaded info, I don't want to reload it all agian!

Thanks Dave

229279 2004-04-15 09:27:00 Search for pst and pab files

- plus wab if using the OE address book and dbx files if using OE 5+ or . mbx, . idx, . nch if using OE 4

Check with MS for methods of backing up .
