You need 2 power connector thingies for it, so you will have to get rid of either your harddrive, or cd drive, as most people do not have a spare according to tomshardware. Also, the Radeon 9800 has far better image quality on shading whatsits. For the Farcry game, but apparently 6800 quality will get fixed in a later driver release. Im still on a gf2, can not afford anything else really. Wish I had a job :-) |

Well I just got a standard 350W PS and it has connectors to burn. And this is using extras for both my GForce card now and also my Sound Card. Power spliters are very easy to by anyway and you just have to make sure that your power supply can handle the demand. |

They should have an external plug or something, so you can just plug it into the wall, and get all the power you want. Maybe turn off all the lights first, what a beast. | mejobloggs (264) | ||

I have an Enermax 350W in and it has about 15 connectors. I haven't counted exact, but that would be pretty close. It makes managing them difficult, but I know I won't run out. I'll wait till ATI release their next Generation chip and see what that can do. Hey anyone watched Paycheck?? Its on at the movies at the moment, go see it I highly reccommend. Its about this guy and he can reverse engineer anything in 2 months for this company, then they copy it and come up with their own design and re-market it. In the movie they copy these 3d flatscreen monitors. I reckon thats what they are probably doing. ATI will reverse engineer the nvidia board, to see what makes it tick. Then a few months from now, you'll see an ATI board that will match the Nvidia one and probably perform a little better. - > I predicted it first.<- |

| 229579 | 2004-04-16 23:29:00 | The next ATI chip is rumoured to have a 200mhz higher clockspeed then the new nvidia card....and is due to hit the streets at the same time as the nvidia chip. As to the reality, whose to say? but i would guess the new ATI would have to have comparable performance. Bad luck for them if it hasn't. |

You want one with at least 256MB of Ram these days. Especially for Far Cry if you want to play it with all the goddies turned on. |

| 229582 | 2004-04-18 11:11:00 | Hi there, are the NVidia GeForce FX5900's good cards? How much Mb's do they have? What games work real well on it, could it run something like Far Cry? |
