Jeez Graham, you do surprise me sometimes. You are supposed to be a Geek! :p :D

229347 2004-04-15 05:09:00 GrahamL - surely you (or anybody) could do better than Paris Hilton! BTW how do you get video from digicam to PC via firewire or USB2 without using specialist software? And if it can be done using some Windows bit, can the files then be edited/saved to DVD? And please don't get technical on me - I have no desire to know about the complicated bits of the equipment I've got. I just want to make/save my little home movies. karent (5222)
229348 2004-04-15 06:41:00 If your camera has a USB cable, plug it in. If you are using XP, there should be a new "removable disk" on the "My Computer" page. Browse through that --- there may be a few directories which contain "administrative things", but you'll find files with a little movie camera icon for movies, and some "picture" type icon for stills. If you have a directory called "My Pictures" or something like that, you should be able to "drag and drop" files from the camera to that (Or anywhere else ... I often just move things to the desktop and sort it out later).

Firewire might do the same ... I don't know. Let us know the camera make and model ... there's sure to be an expert around. Or someone who owns that or a simlar one, anyway. ;-)

I believe there was a bit of interest in the short home video of PH multitasking answering the phone while engaged in other activities. The ex-boyfriend was expecting to make some money for the clip. Obviously he gave up hope of sharing in the Hiltn hotel chain.

229349 2004-04-15 07:35:00 Trouble is Graham, the movie will exist only on tape, and be available as a video stream I suspect.

A file will not exist untill its been "captured" on the PC. What you describe will be the case for still images on a memory card, but not for DV tape?
