229846 2004-04-16 12:12:00 Try saving it as a .rtf type file. wuppo (41)
229847 2004-04-16 12:12:00 ok saved it on to a floppy, so it is safe no matter what happens now, but really baffled why this one time i cannot save to a CD, ???

it shows up other things on the disk, 1 item and its not made a dent in the space left so any ideas or explanation would be helpful here.

will have another go tomorow. better luck next time huh?

brain may also be less tired and frazzled by then to cope with info.

Your problem Beetle is that you didn't until now mention that you were trying to save to a CD. "Save to disk" to me when I hear that usually means Hard disk or Floppy. I could not figure why your document would not save to the hard disk.

If you are using a CD rewritable and trying to to save to the CD over the top of an earlier version of the same file then you will find that most files on a CD have the read only attribute turned on.

I hope this points you in the right direction. Just got home from work after starting at about 5:00 and my brain is tired too. Not to mention the rest of me as well.

229851 2004-04-16 12:44:00 I did not think you were having one of those days.

You did mention not being able able to save to "any" disk which should have given me a clue.

I usually save to Hard disk (two of them) then copy or burn to CD for important stuff.

I am off to bed now too.

Hopefully we are now on the right track.
