230446 2004-04-19 06:06:00 I Have a Liteon 52X cd-rom drive which i have just installed into quite an old pc (like 486 @ 75mhz) the board has a 2nd IDE connector so i used that to plug the cd-rom into. The drive powers up fine but the BIOS dosn't have a cd-rom setting so it just says there is a hard disk fail.

How can i get the BIOS to recognise it as a CD-ROM?

230447 2004-04-19 07:02:00 Just set it to None in the bios. Windows/DOS will still pick it up. bmason (508)
230448 2004-04-19 07:04:00 Just set in BIOS to none. Windows should pick it up OK. Pheonix (280)
