230560 2004-04-21 05:09:00 Did you restart, or do a full shutdown/switchoff/wait 30 seconds and switch on?

Sometimes that brings back to life reluctant components/programs that other methods don't touch.

Don't ask me why becuse I'd just be guessing, but it is similar to sacrificing virgins or throwing salt over your shoulder.

230563 2004-04-22 04:16:00 I shut it down and left it for the night, when I turned it on again the next day it worked :S, BUT now it isn't working again :'( and I just got a new game :'( I should have said this before, when I put the CD in it doesn't even spin or anything, all it does is open and shut the tray :S the little green light on the CD ROM drive flashes but doesn't do anything....... is that a problem with the laser or something else, I don't think I have the driver CD either...... 230564 2004-04-22 06:40:00 You don't need a driver CD for a CD rom as Windows has the drivers.

How old is your computer/CDRom? It might just be dying of old age. When the laser gets weak, you get varying redsults with different CDs, and sometimes with the same CD.

A replacement is cheap, and you can even get a CD-RW for well under $100. DSE have one that has been priced as low as $60 on special from time to time but is usually around $80.
