| 230840 | 2004-04-20 23:32:00 | I have AVG free version about 12 months now. I auto update every 14 days. My update folder now contains about 30 files with a total size of approx. 45 MB. Each update is now about 3.3 MB and climbing. Do I need all these previous ones or can they be deleted. If this is a cumulative update containing all previous ones, why do they not just replace the old file with the latest one. Any enlightenment would be welcome. |

| 230842 | 2004-04-20 23:54:00 | the contents of the update folder can be deleted. however they do come in handy for updating AVG on other networked pc's or if you have to uninstall/reinstall AVG for some reasons. i would delete the updates and go download the latest ver of AVG (just in case you need to reinstall it or pass it on to friends. not to sure what you mean by "Each update is now about 3.3 MB and climbing" as most of the avg updates are tiny. |

| 230843 | 2004-04-21 00:51:00 | I had a problem with AVG not updating (said that an internet connection wasn't available), then it did start connecting all of a sudden, but the updates were 3 meg-ish. I had a pretty late version that, up to then, supported the new smaller updates. I uninstalled AVG and re-downloaded it again. Now all runs smoothly, with smaller update files. Try that. J :D |
