230794 2004-04-20 21:35:00 If you're wanting to play DVD's on your PC from a Standalone player then you'll need a Capture Device of some sort. Not all Ti4200's come with VIVO....

If your Graphics card has VIVO, then you should just be needing software.

If it doesnt, then you'll need to either:
1. Buy yourself a TV / Capture Card
2. Buy an internal DVD-Rom or R/W

Hope this helps

230795 2004-04-20 21:40:00 Not sure what you mean by "stand alone", does it connect to the IDE bus or USB or Video In on the video card?

If it is on the IDE bus then try Media Player Classic.

If it is on the Video In connection on the graphics card you may have issues with MacroMedia copy protection.
The realy early Nvidia drivers from the 40.xx line had no macromedia same with the early WDM drivers.

Media Player Classic will also record video for you as well.
