Yes, it allows you to run it over port 80 :-) Download it and try it, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised at how good it really is! No more ads should be reason enough ;-)

Jabber.org has all the info you need :-)

231039 2004-04-28 01:37:00 Here's just to clarify what you'll need for aMsn:
unc.dl.sourceforge.net

This is the basis of aMSN. This is really the only package you actually need

If you want the pics (User Pics... Emoticons work regardless) then you'll need ImageMagick:
ftp://ftp.imagemagick.org/pub/ImageMagick/binaries/ImageMagick-6.0.0-Q16-windows-dll.exe

Enjoy :-)

231040 2004-04-29 11:38:00 That don't work and I find their website confusing and I don't know what to download, theres all this Tarball stuff and installers stuff, its all a bit much. Danger (287)
231041 2004-04-29 12:01:00 Well Windows Messenger works for me. I just type to family and a couple of friends from time to time.

Running WinXP Pro with SP 2.

No updates to Messenger for a few weeks now.

I don't use Microphones or speakers on MSN.

Cheers for that... my current strategy is putting it out through *cough* open HTTP proxies which is working at the moment.

Shame the MSN client just will not go out on port 80... used to back in the day.

Did you think to download the Win32 (Windows) Executable (exe file)?

Windows runs EXE files... So download them... Either that or I provided the URL's above for everything you need :-)

Try out aMsn, I'd be keen to hear what you think?!

Will do at some stage next week, am currently on leave from work for a week of block university courses.

I use aMsn on Debian at home and have no probs with it.
