1360750 2013-11-24 05:27:00 Hi Guys,

I recently updated my S2 with the latest software and am now having a very frustrating problem with long texts converting to MMS. How can I stop this from happening? I have looked online and people have said to change SMS input to GMS Alphabet but this is not working for me, I have tried several times and restarted my phone but alas nothing. I quite often send long text messages so really need a fix for this as it's driving me nuts, any help would be greatly appreciated :) The new keyboard sux too so I have changed to SwiftKey.

1360752 2013-11-25 09:26:00 I've had the same problem.. B******** 2DG blame it on my phone, the lieing baskets!!!!!!! Greg (193)
1360753 2013-11-25 22:28:00 Technically it is the phone, it's whatever default messaging client the manufacturer ships it with. Stock android SMS messaging doesn't, nor does Hangouts... So just use Hangouts for SMS, problem solved :) Chilling_Silence (9)

1360755 2013-11-25 23:28:00 Look me up on Hangouts when you get it. It's nice coz you can chop and change between SMS and Hangouts real easy, but the best part is that unlike iMessage you can manually choose to send somebody an SMS, it doesn't override it every time ;) Chilling_Silence (9)
1360756 2013-11-25 23:46:00 I went to use hangouts as my default SMS app today but it kept crashing on my N4 with kit Kat. Removed the update and reinstalled Go Pro SMS app. The only reason I'm using that is the N4 will not receive MMS on Telecom, sends fine. Known problem apparently.. paulw (1826)
1360757 2013-11-26 04:06:00 Shouldn't be? I call BS... My wife is on Telecom and has sent / received on her N4 just fine. Granted last tested on Jellybean-4.3, but still? :-/

Crashing how? I'm very curious coz I've never seen Hangouts crash. Official firmware from Google, or is it one of the ParanoidAndroid or similar builds?

Google handouts is also a SMS client, instead of using the default message client. If I'm incorrect I'll join the club Gary
