1360142 2013-11-19 05:00:00 I am being virtually blocked by Ads, as they are constantly making it difficult
to read the news and so on. They virtually take over the whole screen !

Anyone got any answers on how to stop them ? I don't know if it would work or not, but
I am considering moving from Internet Explorer to another browser.

I don't know if it is true or not, but I suspect they may also have my password, as my wife has
not trouble using her computer.

All help appreciated :-)

1360143 2013-11-19 05:10:00 Simple terms - You have malware infections. Changing Browsers wont help.

Have a read of the following malwaretips.com You need to remove the add ins as well as run the various programs listed on that site / link.

It wont be a quick 5 minute fix it will take several hours to run all the programs.

You could also improve your web browsing experience by moving away from the curse that is IE. There are plenty of far better options to try like Chrome, Safari for Windows or Firefox.

Personally I find IE to be the most annoying web browser ever inflicted on internet users.

what has the comments got to do with infections ? If you read the articles or actually knew better you would also know these types of infections infect all browsers.

Back on subject ---- Run Ccleaner as well, And while its not listed on the linked site, run Roguekiller/ (www.bleepingcomputer.com) - on that site, click the button "Download Now @ Authors Site"

Its easy to use:

Launch the program. Wait for the Prescan to finish
Hit the “Scan button”. Wait for the scan to finish.
Chose options one button at a time (Delete, HostsFix, …)
Hit that button. Wait for the end of deletion.

If theres anything really nasty it will prompt you to run again after a reboot.

When running Malwarebytes, DONT Perform quick scan as it says, Select Perform Full Scan. The Quick often misses infections.

1360146 2013-11-19 07:06:00 Very sound advice as usual from Wainui, pay particular attention to what he says and you should be clean gary67 (56)
1360147 2013-11-19 09:24:00 If it's just the "legit" adds that websites have then using firefox with adblock plus and adblock plus pop-up addon is quite effective. I open a certain website side by side on the two browsers and it looks completely different. I think chrome may have the same option also? but I haven't tried to be sure of that.

If it's malware and Wanui no doubt is correct then that won't help.

Again Wainuitech, spot on, now fixed. Took around 4 hours, but most of that was in running
the various programs to clear the junk out.

You are a star !

Get a good one here (someonewhocares.org), and explanations here (winhelp2002.mvps.org) and here (www.rackspace.com). (Optionally you can delete the # marked lines cos they're not intended to be included).
